Good setup?

First off, I am sorry if this is the wrong section to put this in. If it is, mod's please move to the correct section.

I am looking to get new subs and an amp for my car but I am not sure what to look for.

I listen to rock, metal, and rap. I was thinking about 2 12" Alpine Type-R's. Would dual 2 or dual 4 ohms be better? What kind of amp would I use to power these? Should I get a sealed or ported box? And what size wiring should I use? And if it matters, they will be going in a 2000 Ford Taurus.

I am open to any and all suggestions.
