Good setup?

A 15 type-r in 3.5 cubes tuned to 35 hz? I'm going with a 6" aero port and the calculator said it should be 14.38 in long and that just doesn't seem like enough port area. Also how much volume would that port take up? and do I need to make the box a little bigger to make up for that. Thanks.
