good idea or bad idea

okay long story short i cannot get teh power wire from the stock deck. so i was thinking that i could run a power wire from teh battery, into a circuit switch and then into the deck

would this be a good idea?

just run the power wire straight and then a switched 12 volt wire to the red accesory on the deck

no im talking about from the radio fused. that is basically switched because with the key off, the fuse voltage is off, key on fuse voltage on. done that a couple times with remote wires when wire was somewhat limited. you can get fuse jumpers or piggy backs at a local auto parts store

wait could you say that as if you were talking to a redneck. so i run the power straight into the battery, then what do u mean by the red accesory? do u mean the ignition wire?

its in a stock 73 super beetle

i dont want ot remove it

You can still tap it...at least for the switched lead.

its impossible to get behind there, trust me ive tried for a good hour and a half and no luck
