Good enough for the womans car?

My gfs birthday is saturday she will be turning 16 and got a 2dr cavalier....well its already got an aftermarket sony cd player and some cheap aftermarket door speakers and its plenty enough for her and she likes turnin my stereo up so I decided to put somethin in there for her. Her dad doesnt want anything too destructive thats gonna make her forget about focusing on the road so I was gonna get her a single 10 and put it in a ported box and a 300-400 watt amp. I only wanna spend about 175 on a sub and amp I got the box and wiring covered. Does anyone have any suggestions? FYI. Cavi's are horrible candidates for subs. They rattle like all hell. The rear deck, the trunk, the dash. Theyre noisy cars. I hooked up 2 12" memphis subs in my friend's 04 cavi and he got a directed 1200 (600rms) and the trunk has about 2mm xmax, and his rear deck has about 10mm xmax. His dash rattles, his bumper vibrates. It sounds horrible unless youre in the front seats. You can hear everything rattling.

Try going with a really good frontstage with a dedicated sub/midwoofer in the door.

Yea my buddy has a Z24 cavy with 2 12 inch sonys and a 1200 watt power acoustik amp an he thinks its just ungodly loud and it rattles but she wont be jammin out or tryin to look cool just listenin to it while drivin down the road im not too concerned bout it rattling to pieces but thanks for that input //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

sure, just get her it. If she's not listening to it ridiculously loud then i wouldn't worry about it blowing or f ucking up. Also the girl won't know what SQ is whether that sub has it or not. Just get it

Oh and if circuit city still has the comps on sale that would be decent. I picked up 2 12's for like $60. Hooked one up to around 110 watts and it sounds decent. 10's were like 2 for $50
