good double din headunit for me.

well my stock radio on my gti is crap and i want to upgrade. my dad got the pioneer avh-p4000 and i really like it but the interface is a bit old and it wont charge my iphone 3g or my new ipod. im also looking at kenwood and alpine headunits, im looking to spend no more then 500 bucks and dont need navigation i just want to be able to plug in my iphone or ipod or put in a cd/dvd. if you can recommend some other good double din headunits and give me your opinion on the avh-p4000 i'd appreciate it.

I am not a fan of the 4000. Look into the special crutchfield is running on the Eclipse 6620 + bluetooth option.

Eclipse AVN20D, Kenwood DDX512..

What I could come up with.

The eclipse avn20d does not have pre outs for amps or have a USB input. I like the clarion max685bt. Should have everything you want and more at about $500.
