Good Custom Fiberglass Price?

I got a quote for a custom fiberglass single sub enclosure including vinyl upolstery at $350. Is this a fair price? The enclosure will be molded into the cargo pocket of an interior panel.

Yes, that is a good price.

It's very labor intensive. So if that's the complete price including all labor and materials, then it's good.

Yeah normally its about 450-500 round here just for something simple.However the vinyle does save alot of time.

I was quoted $500 for a custom fiberglass covered with carpet at the same spot for a 10" on each side of the trunk.

vinyl takes more time because vinyl will show more imperfections. if that includes material that is a very good price.

They probably have a mold made for it already. If they are smart and its a common car they would have a mold and that can bring cost down also.

I wish I had made a mold for the trunk enclosure I made for an SRT4 Neon. **** it!...lol

The shop is Xtreme Audio & Performance in Manchester, CT but the fiberglass guy is not from the shop. Apparently the fiberglass guy is from West Hartford and is good friends with the owner/employees, so he does work at their shop for them occassionally.

custom fiberglass work is not too common because it is so expensive.
