good amp/sub combo?

Just looking into buying a sub/amp, and from what ive read on the site/researched elsewhere this seems like a pretty good combo/bang for the buck, but I just wanted to make sure its good before i buy...

this amp

Is it true that if i wire the sub in parallel i can get it to run at 2 ohms instead of 4, thereby allowing me to get 500 watts RMS with the amp/sub combo?

Another question, will one sub suffice or would i be well advised to buy two ?

Also, Is this amp a good choice or would this be just as acceptible?

Mostly SQ, I mean I would like to reach a respectible level of volume, but Im not looking to blow my ear drums or anything...

i ordered my sub from ikesound and both my amps and they're fine...i wouldnt try the refurb though
