Good amp for my setup?

Ok, here's my setup:

I currently have 3 10" Sony Xplod 10's (read: SHIT) and a Jensen 600Wx4 amp (1 speaker per channel, 1 channel left unused)

Here's my new setup... 15" Adire Audio Brahma and a sealed 2.0 cu. ft. box. I need a good amp that will push the Brahma, but I don't compete nor do I listen at super high SPL levels. I'd like something that puts out a super clean signal, and maybe around 1000W-1200W max... and stable at 1 ohm...

I was originally going to go with a 15" JL Audio w3 :p somebody talked me out of it though. He said they were just as bad as Lanzar audio... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif I don't want that in my car!!!

Thank you! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Still slow.

Try the following amps:

1. Rockford Fosgate 1500.1

2. Harrison Labs Audio Engine (AE-1600.1)

3. Kicker KX1200.1

4. Autotek XS-1500.1

5. PG Tantrum 1200.1

6. PPI PC1400

7. JL 1000/1 (when released)

8. Memphis 1000D

9. Crossfire 1000D (great amp)

10. Zapco 6.0x

Very expensive, but ALL have great SQ. Just turn the gains down and your straight.

I heard that the Rockford Fosgate amps overheat on a constant basis....

BTW, I don't want to go over 1000 bucks on the amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Especially since I have a hatchback //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Do any of the above amps have a fan built in?

Also, the Zapco claims 1200W x 2 @ 2 ohms. Is this RMS? cuz ****... that's toooooo much...

Maybe I should add this in as well:

I hardley ever go above 300-350W on my 10's... simply too loud for me... so my average throughput on the amp will be 300-400 Watts

Thank you for the links..

Ok, did some thinking... I am gonna go with say, 800W at the most now... my listening level will probably never exceed 300W though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I really really like the looks of the JL Audio amps... they will look awesome with my neon accent lighting that I will be installing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif How much will these beasts run? Also, should I look for a 2-channel or a mono amp??

I always go with RMS ratings //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1200 peak is only 848.4W

Um, I was scoping out the JL 1000/1 and it only claims stablility to 1.5 ohms. Will it be safe to run 1 ohm on this amp?? See, that's my bottleneck. I don't want to jimmy-rig anything, i'd like for it to intergrate seamlessly if ya know what I mean... ****! finding a nice amp is a headache //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

hmm, again US amps are not stable down to 1 ohm. unless I get the competition amps... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

600 Watts Bridged into 2 Ohms

Will 1000W require an upgraded alternator?

Ok, i'll keep that 4 ohm trick in mind
