I'm shopping for a car with at least 500hp that gets great mileage.

c6 z06 is the car for you then. ive seen people get 30 plus high way.

eh, it depends. maybe the OP meant lowest current draw compared to the power (ie, most efficient)

a 500hp car getting 9 miles to the gallon is meh.

a 500hp car getting 14 miles to the gallon is good gas mileage.

sure its shitty compared to a honda insight, but you have to keep things in perspective.

now if the OP thinks hes gonna get 6kw, and run it off a stock electrical system...then sorry, but it aint gonna happen. either there is a misunderstanding about what the OP wants...or the OP just doenst know what hes getting himself into.

I guess i didnt explain myself good enough. I already have a 200A alternator because the biggest i could get. Im switching cars and i belive i can only get the 200 for this one too (91 mustang) i am running 2 yellow tops and i have the big 3 upgrade. I'll be running big 0 wire. I just wanted to get an idea. Im not sure if to run 2 9512 than i can get for cheap but theyre dual 1.5 so i need something that makes good power in the 1.5 ohms, or i can get the 2 fi btl at whatever impeadeance if i order them. But i need to have the amp first to know what impeadeance to order this. I appreciate all the imput though.

what kind of yellow tops? big difference between a group 34 and group 31 batt. if you bought it in a store its a g34, and you would definitely need alot more power than that to run 5 or 6k.

well if it was fully electric sure...but actually it was hybrid, and basically it was the first available hybrid to the public i believe. my teacher had one. averaged almost 70mpg

You'll need at least 2 runs of 1/0...most likely 4 runs of 1/0 for a true 5000 watt amp...The 91 Mustang is a Uni Body car so along with the 1/0 pos you'll need a 1/0 gnd ...Yellow tops arn't your best choice for a 5000 watt system...They'd probally be ok upto about 2000 watts...You'll need something more powerful...I'd suggest a Batcap 2000 under the hood...due to lack of room...and you'll most likely need 2 Batcap 2000's in the rear...They are the best bang for the buck and are fairly compact.....As far as Alt's go you should be able to get at least a 250 amp for that car....

there was a guy on here by the name of audiolife. he used to work for kinetik. he praised the deka intimidators as his 2nd choice right behind kinetik for daily driving if that means anything to you.

i would like to give you a comparison, but i only have experience with the dekas and no kinetiks. from what i have read though, kinetik is a win/win scenario, im just giving you comparable (supposedly) options.

yea, but you cant gun that shit, to get mpg like that. thats like driving on the freeway, at a constant speed, with no throttle variation, just cruising.

So are the batcaps 2000 better than the kinetics 2400? i tried looking for a 250 amp but havent found anything bigger than 200. I used 2 xtatic batcaps in my old car and the 50 farad lanzar cap worked better. I appreciate all the input. keep it coming. i might just look for a goliath thats cheap power for the money if i can find one. One just sold for 625 shipped. so i figured at around 1.5 ohms itll put out around 4k at least if it does 3200@2 and 5k@1.
