Gonna give Kicker a try

Im very impressed with my first kicker install.. For the bad things iv heard about SQ and L7's this thing sure sounds clean!

Kicker makes great, proven, stuff; especially their amplifiers and subwoofers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif If they made a 1-ohm stable mono amp in the 1000-1500W range I'd own one too, lol...

they can be ran at 1 ohm if you have the electrical system
Perhaps, but personally I'd rather not chance it. I guess I'm just one of those people that doesn't run amps into lower impedances than rated. Plus the power not being rated at a lower impedance, you then have to wonder how the amp is regulating below 2-ohms. Is power increasing or is the amp regulating such that power stays the same as the 2-ohm load? That would mean the difference in choosing their ZX750.1 or their ZX1000.1 to try to get the power you want, at 1-ohm. A guessing game and a game of risk I'd rather not get into.

Also I don't get where electrical system comes into play. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif If you have an electrical system and wiring to support the wattage you're getting, then that's what you have. Unless the amps somehow go to like 10% efficiency when they're run at 1-ohm, you shouldn't need any more of an electrical system than using another similar-class amp putting out the same power level at 1-ohm (or any other impedance really).

Anyway that's all kind of OT I guess.

shitttt...i forgot about the amps not being 1 ohm stable. i'm okay on the one i bought but i like to match my amps and i need to make power at either 1 or 4 ohms for my subs

oh well....just gonna have to buy 2 sub amps

I like that most of their amps are rated @ 2ohm and not 1ohm. Generally speaking, that means that the amp draws less current and more is efficient in producing the same power that another amp would make at 1ohm.

I have 2 ZX1500.1s forsale.........................

And FYI Ive ran all my Kicker amps at 1 ohm(DCR) after impedence rise your over 2 ohms and thus there is no problem.

My first kicker products were the RS 5 1/4" comps that I bought last year... those are now living in my rear doors, and the bigger brother SS comps are in front, powered by a ZX650.4, while SS 8" midbass speakers are waiting in my basement for a nice day of glassin'. If I could get ZX2500.1's any cheaper than $850 I'd have a couple...
