So hopefully this weekend I'll be flying to New Jersey to pick up my new 20th Edition GTI //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/santa.gif.e1ec9cf2e0a0dd232ad35aa594a126d0.gif

From what I understand, I get the loan, get the cashiers check, fly there, give owner cashiers check, sign over title, drive it home...BUUUTTTT...

What do I do about tags? I'll be driving it halfway across the country, so I'll need SOMETHING i'm sure.

u should work that out befor u make a deal. its like when u wana upgrade your car audio u do research befor u buy. u know how people that show up on here that just buy sh it like sony and think there the sh it. your acting like one of those people . lol sorry but it true

...i have no idea how that even pertains to what I'm trying to do. I've got the rest of the process down, but I'm lost as far as that goes. I'm asking questions, not making a statement.

From what I see you just go to your local DMV and get a temp tag before you leave.
when i bought my car, i had to pay the guy, get all the paper work sorted and then go out and get my insurance and stuff before driving the car.

Around here you got 30 to get tags from the day you bought it. I would sort out insurance right away though. Cuz it would **** to not have insurance and have a wreck on your way back with the new car. and like mentioned above. Work everything out before your there. It would **** to get there and then not like the car or have the owner back out especially if your going half way across the country. I would go to a local dealer and test drive one so you have something to compare handling, noises, and such.

sometimes, a phone call is best. You can spend 2 days trying to figure it out or just pick up the phone and call DMV for the quick n easy answer. Be sure that thing is insured for the trip home though! I know a guy that bought a 40k car, didnt insure it, trailered it home and flipped the whole package on I 75. LUCKILY, his insurance company covered him since it was being trailered though.

engrish?

the bank you get the loan from has temp plates to put on the car. when you get a loan they ask for the vin and they will give you a temp with the vin of the car on there to put on for a month.

Dude, you are a dumbass

I hope that since you are getting a load and cashiers check and all that, that when you get there the car is exactly as described and drives like new. IT would **** to get there after doing all the paper work and taking out a loan and something be not as described.
