Going to Concerts alone

So heres the deal, I live about 2 and a half hours away from OKC, and want to go to a concert there soon, never drove there by myself yet but its looking like I might have to go alone.
Just curious on any funny stories if you guys have gone on going to a concert alone.

So what is really your concern? You mention you have never driven to OKC alone before. That's no big deal. Have you been to OKC? It is not exactly hard to get around, lol.

What kind of funny stories do you think are going to be peculiar to going to a concert alone?

I am guessing you are very young and/or from a very small town. No offense intended.

Go. Have a good time. Be sure to come back here and post all of your funny concert stories.

VERY SMALL. Pretty sure mikeoftulsa could agree with me there.

**** it, im ordering a ticket.

Probably wont like them or even know who they are:
Through The Eyes of the Dead

As Blood Runs Black

Ion Dissonance

Beneath The Massacre
Sounds like some headbanger boogie. If it is all I can say is going alone you will probably want to steer clear of the mosh pit as that shit can get really out of control. Other than that go, have a good time and maybe you will meet some people there.

Pretty heavy bands, if you like metal check them out.

Will try to stay clear of the mosh, since ill be there alone and if I get knocked ill just get trampled lol.

Ah, well that is perfectly understandable that you would be a little anxious then.

My advice is to get the address of the place where the concert will be and get directions from mapquest. Study those directions. Maybe write them out in large print so that you can check them easily while driving.

OKC is not that bad but you may want to try to time your trip so that you are not driving in rush hour traffic.

Just plan ahead to compensate. You will be fine.

i dont think i'd feel comfortable at a metal or rap show alone. a rock show like tool, sure. i once went to a phish show alone, but i met some pretty cool cats in the parking lot before i went in and ended up hanging out with them most of the show.

plus i was tripping balls, so i wasn't overly shy.

Just talk to people there you might end up partying with them. I haven't gone to a show alone but I've run into a bunch of people on the streets alone and ended up having fun nights.

I planned on having mapquest/google maps on my laptop in the passanger seat the whole time lol. If need be I can connect to the net on my phone, then use it on my laptop and get directions from place to place.

Pretty much what I'm gonna do.

me, im not a fan of cats. they tend to shed too much and then they cough up hairballs. then the one my g/f owns is evil, i swear she's plotting my death

I've gone to a concert alone before once, in an area I didn't know.My friend had plans that weren't gonna happen, but ended up working out.

It didn't really bother me that much.I was there just for the music as someone else said above. It was a really small show in a bar.Talked to a few random people a little bit.It was a bit boring inbetween bands, I'll admit. But when the band I was waiting for came on, I didn't give a shit.

I didn't care I was late (still got to see the band I wanted though), I didn't care I was lost as **** earlier, I didn't care I was alone...........just rocked the **** out and enjoyed the music.

Something worth noting, if you do not know the area, mapquest it, then look at the aerial image, learn what to expect, large building on right, empty parking lot on left, etc. whatever. It might help to write those down too.

BTW: Here's some vids. from my little solo trip. http://youtube.com/profile_videos?user=Pyro101er06&p=r

You might like that band too. "My Beautiful Disgrace" is a pretty cool song, prob. my fav. song of theirs.
