I have 2 Pioneer 2000SPL's, which I had in a pre-fab sealed 1.00 cu.ft. box for a few months. So I decided to build a ported box on my own (my first box).
I built it to Pioneer's specs, 1.75 cu.ft. per sub with a 4" wide, 6.5" long circular port. I plugged in one sub to my amp and gave it 200 watts. It was just as loud, if not louder than both my subs sealed with 800 watts. Then I plugged both in, and WOW what a difference. I turned the system most of the way up and the subs still wanted more and sounded great with little to no port noise, and sound quality pretty much the same as sealed. Unfortunately my head unit broke for some reason shortly after this, so I cant continue listening to my imporved bass till I get it fixed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
So for those of you contemplating going ported, I would highly reccommend it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif
Ill post pics of the box later
