Going from sealed 10 to ported 8

I would like to know the comparisons between the two setups. Right now, i have a sealed ID10 in a .8 box.

I want to know more about how a ported enclosure with 8s would sound. I understand a properly tuned box with one 8 inch sub can sound like 2 12s.

The most important questions is what will i be missing.. if anything at all. i need a comparison review...

Whats a good recommended 8 inch sub. I only have 300 watts for it.
