Going from 2 to 1 ohm

I have 4 ohm single voice coil 15"s and i heard they couldn't be wired at 1 ohm.. true?

It's true, they'll only reach a 2ohm or 8ohm load.

does he have 2? you would need 4 to get 1 ohm

it can only be wired to 4 ohms, nothing more, nothing less

you never had it wired to 2 ohms either

So bridging them doesn't have anything to do with it? Cause for some reason they were louder when bridged..

because you bridged the amp, not the subs,

subs can never be bridged, many people refer to wiring in parallel as brigdeing which is wrong

you need to be on the short bus

YOU NEED TO BE ON THE SHORT BUS!!! It's just like having a single DVC sub, which with a DVC sub with 4 ohm voice coils, it will only be able to be wired into a 2ohm load or an 8ohm load, on a mono amp.

that sucks.. so there's no way to get any more wattage to the subs? Besides getting a bigger amp..
