Ghetto deadener

A few layers of peel and seal or other window flashin like products work just as well as all that other expensive crap on the market... ashphalt ftw.

I mean, all that deadening is is a sheet that adds mass to the panel (essentially). If you can find another method that works, then by all means. The closest thing I can think of is asphalt roofing felt, which I sometimes use on the insides of my enclosures. Problem is, it doesn't adhere by itself and requires alot for the desired effect. Usually found with the insulation in hardware stores.
And to threadstarter, I apologize if you misunderstood what I was trying to say. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
its ok u misunderstood what i was tryin say in the first place but shit all sorted out now and i've got ideas of what to do, thanks

Isolate the rattle. A trunk simply flexing isnt going to rattle, It probably rattles at the hinge, or anywhere else it makes contact. Consider, depending on the type of hinge or location, either like a tape or a blanket, or something elastic, wrapped around it. Elsewhere, you could use very old blankets covered in duct tape on both sides if you have any old blankets sitting around. First look if you can just isolate one or two rattles...

i did some of my ghetto deadening today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

my rear deck piece flexes a lot...so i added two layers of this stuff to help it not flex and slap aroudn eveywhere

heres the stuff i used...its like thermal insulation bubble wrap type stuff.

I bought some insulation at lowes, its by frost king. It duct insulation. There $14 a roll, which is about 15 sq. ft. You may need some spray adhesive, i got some at walmart for 5 bucks. One roll was more than enough to effectively deaden the trunk lid.
