Ghetto deadener

not all of us are ****in retarted with money and spend it all on car audio shit (or vehicles)...like some of you:rolleyes:

take me for example, i dont want deadening for my car..it rattles but i cannot justify spending hundreds to deaden my car when i am only going to be driving the car for another few months. is my car a pos? no, not at all. its a good daily driver and is very clean... its no show car, but is it worthy of a system? definatly. so until i learn to spend money like its no thing....i will live with some rattleing.

and im trying fix it i was just asking for a little help without puttin alot of money into it i wasnt asking for some smart *** comment bout me not needing a system

I didn't say that you ****, relax. I said that it makes no sense to want to deaden your trunk when you don't want to do it the right way. Basically, you want the effects from something that you don't want to do.

he is not asking for a solution to completely end rattling. whats the first thing anyone who has a sub "deadens"? their license plate...its easy to do with some weather stripping or something and on a lot of vehicles will decrease rattling by a lot. there has to be a cost effective method to reduce SOME rattling of boddy pannels, without usuing dynamat or anything. in the trunk lid for example. im sure there are a materials you can buy at a hardware store to reduce rattling by a certain percentage. i do agree that if someone wants to completely eliminate rattles then buying actual deadeing is nessesary but for a temporary fix to help reduce rattles there is probably some cheap simple things a person can do. and how many people on this forum actually have "proper" deadening...and not just a piece of dynamat behind the speakers or anything. i imagine a good percentage do not have a full sound deadeing job. i guess that would render their cars useless pieces of shit and uncapable of being worth of a stereo system. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah, not everyone can blow hundreds all day long on deadener. My car isnt ne where near new, and the point of car audio is enjoy it no matter how much money you make, and asking for a quick way to stop some rattle doesnt mean hes a cheap a$$ who doesnt deserve some good sounds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I agree completely, but:

just wonderin how i could stop the rattling of my trunk without using deadener such as dynamat
Deadener isn't an amazing product, and it's very simple to use. To stop trunk rattling, as he said he wanted to, you need to deaden the area. If he said that he wanted a cheap solution to get rid of license plate rattling, that's one thing. However, that isn't what he posted.

indeed. however is it impossible to acheive any deadening without a product such as dynamat?

this thread has got me curious and tommarow i am going to attempt to deaden my trunk lid without any fancy materials. i guess i will answer my own question:)

peel n seal and great stuff.
x2. But only if your not keeping the car. It stinks and melts into goo in hot weather. I put some in my work vehicle about a year ago. It fell off after it sat in the sun for 6 months. I have some ED liquid stuff. It's crap too but better than PnS. I'll let you have it cheap. I was going to throw it away. I don't know if it's got a shelf life but it's been in my garage for over a year.

I mean, all that deadening is is a sheet that adds mass to the panel (essentially). If you can find another method that works, then by all means. The closest thing I can think of is asphalt roofing felt, which I sometimes use on the insides of my enclosures. Problem is, it doesn't adhere by itself and requires alot for the desired effect. Usually found with the insulation in hardware stores.

And to threadstarter, I apologize if you misunderstood what I was trying to say. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
