GH3 vs rock band

From what people are saying, RB is easier. This means less gameplay and too easy to keep interest. From what I have heard about RB in this thread alone, I would pick GH3 over RB. Just because GH3 has more challenge and longer actual gameplay while still keeping a challenge. On GH3, I've been playing for about 4 weeks now and I am still playing on medium. That is because there are certain skills that I would like to pick up on before I move to hard.

Rockband is easier, as far as guitar/bass goes but drums and vocals bring in a whole new aspect of the game. I can't sing worth a shit but its still fun when you have all your friends over. Drums are just fun period. RockBand has "Band World Tour", on that you accumulate fans and get certain acheivements. It does have a drawback, you can't do it online and you have to have enough people to fill the spots in your band. A band can consist of just 2 people, or 3, or 4.

GH3 has less DLC compared to Rockband. Guitar is harder, bass is harder. Only two people can play at a time. The story mode on GH3 is shorter IMO. When I got GH3 it took me 2 hours to unlock all the songs-RockBand took ~4 both on guitar. GH3 is a great game to play, it just seems to me that I get bored faster on GH3.

But I did get to play Rock band 3 at a friends house, loved it.

I honestly think the Bass in Rock Band is better. Songs by bands like Rush and such leave me going //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif at the bass part. GH has **** good rhythm parts, that's for sure, but I think RB gets the edge for Bass.

The last song of RB for the guitar tier sucks, for the simple fact it's so long that you just lose interest or a slight bit of timing, and you're fawked. 200k on Cult of Personality I would think is doable. I mean shit like 20 songs perfect on Expert, or beating the game on Hard with a controller. It can be glitched, which I found out by accident. But regardless, why is that needed as an achievement?

GH3 has more metal songs I like, and they are **** fun to play. Best option? Get both, really. But for a party atmosphere, definitely RB.

I'm not sure what exactly you are referring to, but you can play rockband online. At least on 360 you can.

That's how we would get 4 members when one of us was missing or gone. There would be 3 of us there and then we would get a 4th person online.

Now if you are referring to the world tour online, then that I have no idea about.

just got done playing Rock Band... fun game, but the guitar, the guitar gameplay, and pretty much anything related to the guitar sucks and blows at the same time.

I agree with RB Guitar is flawed, but I'm not a huge fan of the Les Pauls myself, at least the versions I have used. I still prefer the classic SG of the ps2. The buttons on the Les Paul seem stiffer IMO

I can tap the intro to Through The Fire and Flames on the ps2 with the SG, but I cannot on the Les Paul on the ps3.

If you have 360, try to get the GH3 controller (I dont know if they sell it seperately) and get RB. They will be releasing DLC regularly (ALTMK), also there is more variety. It's a tough call tho, if you take the Guitar parts seriously and want the most challenge, go with GH3 then, but other than that, I would get RB. I've played a ton of GH2 tho, so I like the drums and change of pace.

Plus its always fun times getting a group together and playing drunken RB, lol, unless of course you have the annoying drunk around.
