Getting the ball rolling......(install)

Your sub probably isn't hitting the lows due to the shitty prefab box. Go out and build yourself one. I am sure there is someone on here that could help you. That sub should jam on that amp. Is not the sub, unless something is wrong with it, I would say it's the box. Just an idea.

That amp is bad freakin ***. One of the best 600w amps @ 4 or 2 ohms out there, if not the best one.
I don't really know, I only used it for about a day with my old sub and now I don't have a sub.

how do you like the Polks comparing to the Bostons? I've been trying to get my hands on those for a little while now.
-Nick-
Love the polks! To me they where pretty much night & day as far as smooth highs. The Boston's where too harsh at high volume. The polks have quite a bit more mid bass, and the tweeter's are smooth. I highly recommend, I am trying to get another set for my rear fill.

please explain why
Had them in the doors with the boston's, move to the rear for easy access, and needed to run another wire incase I go active latter.

The box for the sub has gotta be too small...
Don't know, it was the "GTUNED" box from boston:confused:

BTW, I have installed the amps back under the rear deck.

I am having a ported box built for a single 12" IDMAX:D Will update with pics once the box is complete, darn, I still need to order the IDMAX, but I have no funds:(

Installed 2 pc case fans for the amps. They were getting hot after high volume, they weren't going into protection, just hotter than I would like them to. After installing these two fans and driving around for about an hour and listing at high volumes, the amps where only WARM. Even with temps in the mid 90's, not bad.

Fans are secured with zip ties, does the job well:)

Sub coming very soon!! At least I already decided what I am going to do, 12" IDMAX in a ported box. Just wating for this **** tax rebate check:mad:

Looking good. Trust me, them doors are a pain in the ***!

I had to take my driver side door off, had to drill the holes, then run my wire. By the time I go to the other side, I said screw it and used the factory wiring.

the wiring is a mess, but tis a cool idea.

i was never a fan of the polk mom crap that we sold at circuit city. but to each his own.

i like rear deck amp installs tho. i did one, it came out great.

I like it a lot.
THANKS

Yup, the drivers side door is evil, but the passenger side is easy, your basic rubber grommet with wires through it.

The wiring is not really too messy, the wires that do show are very clean looking. You really can't see any unless you put your head in the trunk and look under the rear deck. But I am going to work on wire management, getting rid of the KNU rcas, they are too long and thick(3ft Krystal). I will be searching for some Stinger1ft, or screw it, just make my own.

Forgot to mention, the polk momo's are history! Too large! Put the Boston SL95s back in, I like the sound of the Boston's better and are very small.

Updates! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Would you mind providing some more thoughts on your choice for the SL95s in the rear? How do they sound with the PDX?

They are GREAT, very small & light since they use neodymium magnets, making installing these super easy and flexible. They are only rated at 60wrms, but I am feeding them around 100wrms crossed at 40hz with 12 db slope and they play fine without distortion. I have them crossed that low because I don't have a sub and need some bass:) Once I have my sub I will cross them higher and feed them more power.

As far as sound quality, they are great, much better than infinity kappas & polk momos. I have owned both and these are better IMO. They can't hit the lows fine, doesn't replace a sub, but they do the job. These paired up with my Polk SRs up front, I really don't miss having a sub, that's why I have put it off so long.

The PDX amp is fine, I know many don't like them for full range because they are class D. They sound fine to me, I doubt you can tell from the PDX to a equally quality A/B class amp. Maybe on a sound board in a listening room, but in car, I doubt it.

id trim down a little more dynamat in the trunk, be careful about putting it down where the foam seals the trunk lid, if you put some in that area you could get a little leakage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

looks really nice though

Finally got the SUB!

After a long wait, I finally got the sub installed. Box built by ~Magick_Man~

The IDMAX

**** sunny today

And still have a lot of trunk space:)

I also moved the tweeters to the door panels

I also applied the Imprint software with the KTX-H100 tunning kit. **** this thing does wonders, recommend it if anyone is skeptical.

I am pretty much done, the only thing I really have to do is work on wire management.
