Finally finished sound deaden my trunk in my new 07 Accord(well about a month old now), weather was nice this weekend in the dfw area so I took advantage. Only took me 3 hours to do the lid, darn small openings. Took me around 6 hours to do the rest of the trunk. I used dynamat xtreme, yeah I know their are other options, but for some reason I like dynamat xtreme:crap:

On the 07 accord their is a carpet panel that covers the under side of the trunk lid, really nice. After I applied the dynamat you can't even tell it's there, just the way I like it. I like things simple and clean.

I temp wired my Boston G5 to see how it would sound, not bad, but I expected more. Maybe because I used a Zen mp3 player direct to a alpine pdx 1.600.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Still have alot of usable trunk space, even my son fit:D Any ideas where to install 2 pdx amps? I tried under the seats, but there are alot of electronics and crap, no room, plus the darn ac vents are too wide:(

Installed the amps, overall I LIKED the way they came out. I also sound deaden the rear deck, I wanted to add closed cell foam also, but I forgot to order it:(

I haven't wired them yet, but there is plenty of room to wire everything from behind. I have stinger hpm wiring from my previous car, but it's blue and clear coating:D I am going to order some stinger expert wiring, I like the simple but classy black coating:cool:Trying to look as OEM as possible, and bright blue coating is not going to cut it.

Taking the rear deck off, what a bunch of SH!T, I was swearing all afternoon:D

Simple cut-out for drilling the holes.

020208006.jpg

Had to cut around one rear speaker in order to put bolt through, Heavy Duty sheers made that simple.

Test fitting the amps.

Finished, very secured, but I am also going to add an additional bracket later. There are TWO pdx amps stacked, you can really only see one, unless you look underneath.

Got some more work done....

Got the amps fully wired

All wires are on top left and right side, pretty happy the way it came out.

Got the Boston pro60s installed, cursing all afternoon, ran into a few problems. I couldn't run wire to the doors, the doors have harness that connect at the rubber grommet, what a pain, didn't feel like taking the door off to drill a hole. So I just used the factory wiring.

Installed two 2" tang band W2-852SF speakers in the panels that go under neat the dash, right above your legs. These are for the voice prompts on the factory navigation. These sound great and do the job well.

Just need to install dynamat under the rear deck and put some dynaliner, mount the sub, install the HU & calibrate. Hopefully will be done by the end of this weekend, don't have much time, that's why it's taking me forever.

if it is a molex just drill a hole in an empty slot or 2 and pull the wire threw. other than that it looks good, just a lil worried about the amps and those thin bolts you used. i would have mounted them to the back of the trunk under a panel.

There was no room in the plug, believe me I was going to drill a hole in the plug. Yeah I am fabricating additional support for the amps, but just trying to finish everything up so I can have some decent sounds.

WooHoo FINISHED all major installation, just need a few things here & there.

First impressions:

Love the alpine ida-x100, works with the ipod classic seamless. Has lack of sound shaping functions, but I didn't mind because the pxa-h100 sound processor should be in some time this month. I also have the kce-300bt bluetooth module, I hear alot of bad reviews of this unit, but I have no problems with it. I use it with a moto q9c, and works great. I would say it's on par with the bluetooth on my previous hu, a pio 980bt.

Boston Pro60's sound GREAT, even the SL95 sound good, yeah "ditch the rears" but I need them:) Without out the sub running, it sound good enough for daily driving.

Boston G5 in Boston prefab box with GTR, tuned to 32hz. I have mixed emotions with this setup. First thing I noticed was, I couldn't get the sub to hit low notes at a decent level. I am not sure if because of the HU's lack of eq or the sub it self. Playing rap/hip-hop sounds fair at best, the lack of low notes is VERY noticeable. I am going to hookup my previous sub, a PG XENON 12 in a ported box tuned to specs, this box/sub combo hits lows like CRAZY. Will keep you updated.

The alpine pdx amps, so far good, not much time enough to comment on them. But , I did noticed they get quite WARM pretty quick. Let's see how hot they get in this Texas summer:eek:

I couldn't get the voice prompts from the OEM navigation to work, the signal is obviously NOT coming out from the speaker outputs from the HU. There are several harness in back of the navigation unit, I am pretty sure I can tap into into for the signal. I would have spent more time with it, but my wife was nagging me to hurry up and finish this project up. So I will mess with it later, I am going to try and find the schematics of the harness online, all I know is the factory navigation is from Alpine.

Still working on this project, had some time this Friday & Saturday.

  • Relocated the h100 processor to the trunk
  • Switch Boston Pros to Polk SR6500
  • Switch Boston SL95 to Polk Momo690
  • Relocated PDX amps
  • Ran another pair of wire for the fronts to rear, incase I want to go active:)

Moved under rear deck, once I get the tuning kit it will be much easier to access.
