I read about people getting shocked when they get out of their cars awhile back on here. And now I'm starting to get some static shoch when I get out of my car. What causes this? Ground?

That's nothing compared to getting shocked by the distributor.

I was messing around under the hood the other day.. had one hand on the strut power brace, with my other hand removing a plug wire off the distributor.. talk about getting zapped.

my dad owned a mechanic shop when i was young. his hired helper wore his wedding ring to work, reached up under the dash and burned his finger to the point that they amputated it. i guess he got it stuck, and shorted a wire with his gold ring.

I get shocked when I get out of my car and touch the door. I am also wanting to know why this happens.

i used to deliver and had a huge static shock problem... everytime i closed my door (like 30 times a day) you could like see it arc lol... after rolling my hand in my sleeve for awhile, i fianlly learned just too close it by the glass lol

I noticed it happened alot in my old car that had normal fabric seats, but almost never happens in my current car (leather seats)...

I think it just has to do with static electricity from sliding against the seat...

Thats nothing. Ever seen Jurassic Park? Where that kid was climbing that electric fence and flew like 30 feet from it? Thats based on what happened to me. Only I got super power after it. The ability to give AMAZING breast massages with my mouth.

i remember my science teacher saying that 2 amps can kill you in water. i got tazed by correctional officers during a riot at buena vista prison. it hurt, but i expected it to be far worse. tazers are around 20,000 volts i think.
