Getting rock fos amp and subs...maybe?

Alright, I was thinking about getting 2 power hx2's and probably a power 800.2 amp all by Rockford Fosgate. I found the subs for about $500 for the pair and the amp is about $300 I don't really want to spend more than that.. well maybe a little more. I want my system to be really loud. Shaking the car next to me loud. I don't have a lot of experience in the car audio realm and am just starting to build a knowledge base. I was wondering if you guys thought what I'm getting is worth the price or if I could find something better for a little more or less. Thanks for the help. I want the subs to be able to handle about 500-1000 RMS each and I think the 800.2 would push them pretty well?? Maybe it wouldn't, like I said I don't have a lot of experience.

subs are good...... very loud, but i am not sure about the durability of them. heard a lot of people saying that they last only a certain amount of time..... get them ported! 500 is a good price for 2 12's....

not sure about that amp for that price.... might want to look elsewhere, but then again amp is same co., that makes subs.... good to have all same thing ya know...

I like what u picked out. That amp might be a little small for those subs though. It will work fine, but if u can get a bigger amp from fosgate, do it. Those subs will pound like a mofo. Put in a Ported box, and i bet u will hit upper 140's easy

Thanks, I was going to ask about the ported- not ported box. I "heard" ported will make the subs louder, but sealed will make them hit harder. Is this true?? Is it really that big of a difference? And if it is I should definately go with ported?? I really appreciate the help.

would those subs be louder than a 12" or 15" brahma??

i dont know about that..

the brahma will be MARKEDLY better sounding, lol.
