Well.. im lookin to spend $200-250 for a set of mids and highs... im going to be running a JL 300/4 amp to them.. and my head unit does 22Wx4ch rms.

i think im going to run the HU to my stock JBLs...

i listen to lots of rock and alternative.. and also a little rap.

I want a set of components that can have some good midbass in a song like Marilyn Manson - Beautiful People... but also wonderful highs with a song like Christina Aguilera - Hurt.

Do i go with CDTs? Diamond Audios? Rainbows?

I know this is asked all the time but im really lost here :p i looked at all the reviews and theyre pretty biased :p

if you were me... would you spend it all on the components and keep the stock kenwoods coaxials? basically bridge the JL to 150x2 and run 150w to each ?
This is really confusing me. Do you have the Kenwood coax's in front and back? Anyways, what I would do is get a good set of components and bridge your amp to run them. Run your Kenwood coaxles (cause you have them) in the rear off of head unit power. If you are going to spend $200-250 I would be looking in the classifieds.

heh sorry.. i figured out what i should most likely do.. it's not kenwoods.. that's the deck only. i have stock JBL.. and it's 6.75 (weird huh.. but ill get 6.5 most likely) and 6x9 in back..

but i think ill do the stock JBL in the back off HU ..

keep the rears stock with HU power. Pick up a set of Poly mids and Vifa XT25 tweets from Ascendant Audio. You can either buy their crossover parts and build your own to run passive, or you can just run them active on the 300/4. I'd go active if you can

I messed with several sets of speakers before and have always been impressed with Rainbow's offerings. If you can find a set of CS 265 Kickbass used for cheap that might be the way to go. Sorry, I have a hard time putting price and speaker models together.

The ^^^ is a good suggestion.

hrmm.. dunno something about searching for 3 different things that i can get at once annoys me :| i guess im the typical american where convenience > *

edit: yikes!! looked at rainbow's prices.. theyre definitely high.. and out of my budget

lookin at maybe Crystal SSCS6 ... reviews here praise them

no they aren't the baseline models are right in your range, and a very nice for a entry level model, at least that's the common opinion.
