getting new gear

first of all.. im replacing my sub. i have a kicker 400.1 mono amp. any suggestions on a sub thatll do well with this amp? i was thinking a single 10 or 12 L5/L7 solobaric..

the rest i can do on my own. i know which HU i want, and when it comes to my coaxials (cant afford component sets) ill get what ive heard and know sounds good. im lacking on the bass department. my kicker/mach5 setup worked wonders for exactly one day. now.. it aint shit. i think its my HU, ive been told time and time again to replace it by profesional installers, friends, and people on here (its a Dual, from walmart. the black/silver one with the fold down face). but anyway.. mach5 is alright and all, for a cheap woofer. but i need something with alot more SQ and a nice low end. price range is around 130-150 depending on if i can find it locally or online. online it would be 150 shipped... i see they have a 12" L7 on hifi sound on sale for like 98.00 -- would it be alright with my 400.1 amp? i know ill need to upgrade if i want the sound i want, but for now.. im hoping it keep me happy for a few months off of 400wrms

i would worry much more about the box. Build a better box and you will probably be happy with the sub you already have. How big is your current sealed box (cubic feet of airspace)? Is it properly sealed? no air leaks?
