getting my motorcycle license tomorrow. thoughts on a ride?

I started with a 1993 CBR600 F2 that was used for drag racing (motor work,,stretched,,geared a bit a low) and we only shortened it a little bit and I didn't have a problem at all with it when I first started.

Just because a bike is fast, doesn't mean you have to go fast on it.

I am getting a license soon too.. and I am planning on starting with 600, I rode my friend's 250.. I m 6 foot tall, and I hated the way I had to sit on the bike.. it looks like i m sitting way upright.. while gsxr600 or zx 6r would fit me so much better..

I am talking to a guy who has a 1993 gsxr750 for sale for good price so I might end up getting that one..

i started on a 2001 gsxr 600 i had no problems with it. currently i am riding a 08 gsxr 600. just be careful and have respect for the power of the bike by not pushing it when you know what your skill level is.

btw i'm ~6' and 185 lbs.

i've been doing a lot of looking on ebay and craigslist and stuff, does anyone have any other recommendations on sites to check out? something like autotrader but for bikes???

i was looking at a kawasaki ninja 500... is that a good bike? i might end up spending more like 5500. i'm pretty set on a 500 or 600 cc bike. i know you all say it wouldn't be a good starter bike but i'm not the bonehead who flies down the freeway at 120+.

i passed my class this weekend. i aced the driving portion and i feel very comfortable riding, like i've been doing it for a long time.
