Getting My 4 channel Installed..need help!!

I got questions about fuses..i have a mono amp with a fuse rating installed in my SUV right now..and i will install a 4 channel with a fuse rating of 40A...does that mean i have a 100A Fuse under the hood..cause i have 4 guage wiring all power and ground with a 60A AGU fuse in right now...is it okay to upgrade to a 100A maxi Fuse when i get that 4 channel fuse installed..cause i dont think there is a 100A AGU fuse..highest i seen is 60A...then i should have a 60A and 40A fuse in the distribution block to match the ratings of the 2 amps the mono and 4 channel..is this all correct?? also..my 4 channel can only have at most 8 guage wiring power and ground...so at distro block i will have a run of 4 to mono and run of 8 to 4 channel both from block to amps..sound right??..the amp kit i am going with is Rockford...model number: CP4DCKS..its got everything i need except the right fuses...and suggestions or comments will help..thanks

the fuse from the batttery is supposed to protect the power wire not the amp...iirc the amp rating for the 4 gauge wire is around 140???? dont quote me on that though...some one back me up....

But i am right..if you just have a mono amp installed and its fuse rating is 60A and you have 4 guage wiring you need a 60A fuse under the hood??

Negative.

You fuse to protect the wire. Max current draw on 4awg is 150A. So run anything from 100-150A.

thanks..i dropped a 100A fuse under the hood...and 40 and 60A fuses in block...only problem is when my volume is at 36 its like my amp are hungery for more power...do i need a cap?? i wanna stay away from caps i hear bad things about them...should i get a yellow top or something?? or new alt..cause my total amperage is 100A...40A and a 60A fuse rating amps...and a 100A under the hood...caps are like 199.99 and yellow top is 159.99..humm
