getting louder with windows up

very weird, do you think that mixing the air sound with the high fq sound makes the high fq sound harder to hear so the bass or low fq is more audiable then before?
What the fuck did you just say? English?

You need to chill the fuck out before you have yourself a little vacation JUST after you joined.

uh ok.... and i quote...

note where i mention deadener, then say the only OTHER way? reading comprehension > j00
okay retard you get some comprehension. with or without you saying deadner. when i said "and such" it was directly taking the place of where your said "etc."

and you said that if by saying and such, i mean deadner then im right. but if not then i am making shit up. tell me. does replacing "etc" with "and such" make you so paranoid that you would tell me im a liar and making shit up?

did you take that as an angry statement?

i just meant that what that guy said was weird. that rolling down on window on one side makes the other side have more bass.

so what i was asking is do you think that, since high frequency waves don't travel as far and have a harder time passing through objects and are not as easily heard when other sounds are interfering, if you have your side window down and you have "air noise" occuring, does that make the highs and the mids harder to hear making the lows more audiable. lows with a smaller wave length have an easier time traveling and being heard over other sounds

i'm trying to explain to you something that i've found out for myself by spending hundreds of dollars and a ridiculous amount of time putting in deadener and getting metered numerous times. you on the other hand, apparently just want to argue semantics.

while this is somewhat amusing, i'm tired and am going to bed.

1st. Chill the fuck out. Again.

2nd. This is NOT weird at all. It is true in ALL testing I have ever done, and I guarantee over 90% of normal vehicles. It's called pressurizing.

3rd. Are you an r-tard? I think that's the real question we should be asking. Maybe the speech here is just way over your head... as you are a "Novice"... but I seriously don't get what the fuck you are trying to say. The speech in your paragraph isn't very comprehendible.

Holy Shit!! I sincerely apologize to orioles26 for making my first post in this thread and apparently starting this shit-storm. I was merely trying to point out what I felt was a misunderstanding of the problem he was having....my bad.

Bass goes up with windows down yes, but at the same time I lose much midrange frequencies with windows down. The ambient noises take over and drown their effects. What I do is just have 2 different EQ curves for these situations. Not much else you can do about it. It isn't a HUGE difference, at least for me.

Yes, youre missing something. The fact that you are a complete jackass,
Pot meet kettle.

I think it is safe to say that everyone is cool with you. There may or may not be a few douchesicles that the forum could stand losing though. They also may or may not be present in this thread.
OP: Why did you pick such a controversial subject? You are the real shit starter here. This was clearly bait.

okay, again i don't see myself as coming off angry. and also if you could read english the it would be very understandable. propper use of commas is all it is. the bolded info between the commas is added info. not needed for the sentence but put there in place to further explain what i meant. also i think you need to calm down because some who goes out of there way to make sure people can see him saying **** is a bit stupid. and "you an r-tard" - what the hell kinda english it that.

this is what i was talking about. when the windows are down the sound from the air outside his car making it harder to hear the highs and the mids. also he said his bass goes up. i think that bass sounds the same only that with the added sounds in the car, it is just making the bass seem louder. or just easier to hear.

Maybe it is a bit of both. Either way, the EQ on my 9835 helps to alleviate this percieved difference in sound character. How this perception is created makes no difference to me;)

"okay i don't want to cause any more debate but i agree that the larger the sub the lower it well play. my reasoning?

mother nature......

when a small power full airstream is moving you hear high pitch whislte sound.

a small area of air moving.

now when there is large stream of air moving (such as a storm) you hear a much deep pithched sound.

a large area of area moving.

no if the area of air being moved had NOTHING to do with it why would i not hear the same sound.

.....that my friends is as technical as i get"

"i just don't think that a 15 would sound good for fast kick drums. i mean it would be TOO low"

"your ported box probley sucked and a 1200.1 is not enough power for a L7. i gurantee that is why you blew them."

Comments made by Novice. And he is called GTA a dumbass.

In most cases adding sound deadener will make your system louder. If this is the question, "is there any way to make it louder with the windows up?" Then "adding sound deadener." is not wrong, he never said adding sound deadener would change the cabin pressure, or that it would make having the windows up louder than having them down, he simply said adding sound deadener, will increase how loud it is with your windows up, which in no way is wrong, at least in all of his experiences.

you aren't going to change the difference between windows up and down. thats just the way almost all cars work.

Actually, I've found that it's box dependent //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.I've tried in multiple vehicles, multiple set-ups.

I had one box, insane on the inside.Didn't matter if you played with the windows or cracked the drivers side door, output stayed pretty much the same TO THE EAR.With the windows down you could barely hear the bass 5ft. away.Stick your head inside, bam 140db+ hits ya. I've also had boxes where it's ok with the windows up, but once you roll the windows down, BAM.There's your output. And I've also seen vise versa.

All and all, I've found it seems tobe more with how well the box works with the vehicle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Hopefully I'll do more testing with this once I get a meter.

*Note* All of the above was just going by ear (seems more important) but I will try this with a meter to see if I'm correct, or just insane.

yeah i had a bit of a pickle in my *** last night, don't know why i engaged in the ol' back and forth with someone who wasnt really trying to argue any points.

paul, you didnt start all this, you made a simple comment, which i replied to by getting a little smart, then it turned into a whole childish "well you said" "no i didnt" thing.

mountaineer, you're still using my friggin sig quote!!

this issue as alot to do with the box being tuned to the cabin freq.
anyhow, i'd really like to hear more about this statement. in my 3 setups, i only used one box, except for the ***** am where i had a sealed box then a ported, so i couldnt really compare different tunings in the same vehicle.

could someone get a little more in depth into this, or post a link?
