Getting either type R or type E...?

I am thinking about upgrading my old rockford series 1 12's with either some type R's or Type E's. Being as the E are half the price of the R, how much better are the R?? Or should I just go with some Rockford P3's cuz rocford has never done me wrong.....Also, I am looking at upgrading my box. Right now I have a competition bandpass box that has a plexiglass window. x2. i got one with a viper 1200 (for sale) and it is great. ported of course, it gives great output.

i can say the E likes sealed boxes more and sounds smoother. if ya goin ported get the R. i havent tried the E ported yet, but it awesome seald. runnin on the 2500d at 4ohms and its takin the power. its an SVC4OHM. if u are wantin more SQ go wit the E. get like 3 12Es and wang. so if ya gonna keep ya bandpass box, get the Es.
