yeah i just did the yellow battery wire, not the red ignition wire.yeah, red is the switched power wire that turns your h/u on when the ignition turns on and yellow is the 12volt power wire, both of these need to connect to the battery pos
just didnt cross my mind at the time i guess hehe, i do feel idiotic right now though. i even looked at the wire and questioned myself.you have been here for 3 years and had no clue that the ignition wire has to be powered up along with the constant and ground in order to get a deck to power on? idiots!
****it! i looked at the ignition wire and questioned myself, but i didnt wanna risk anything that may damage the unit lol.
meh, no biggie. Im selling the unit, so maybe whoever gets it will get my girlfriends CD.
not to make you feel dumb or anything, but the remote wire is 12v out from the deck..just didnt cross my mind at the time i guess hehe, i do feel idiotic right now though. i even looked at the wire and questioned myself.

..putting power into the remote may cause problems in the future

there is no good way to tell, depending on the unit, you may burn up pieces on the board...hopefully without power being on the switched, nothing will be wrongWhat sort of problems? Damage to the headunit?
