yeah, red is the switched power wire that turns your h/u on when the ignition turns on and yellow is the 12volt power wire, both of these need to connect to the battery pos

yeah i just did the yellow battery wire, not the red ignition wire.

shucks, i'll run back to my condo tomorrow and do that.

you have been here for 3 years and had no clue that the ignition wire has to be powered up along with the constant and ground in order to get a deck to power on? idiots!

just didnt cross my mind at the time i guess hehe, i do feel idiotic right now though. i even looked at the wire and questioned myself.

meh, no biggie. Im selling the unit, so maybe whoever gets it will get my girlfriends CD.

not to make you feel dumb or anything, but the remote wire is 12v out from the deck..

..putting power into the remote may cause problems in the future

whelp, i tried this and no luck
pos to pos, neg to neg, absolutely nothing

pos and remote to pos, neg to neg, i got a spark from the neg terminal, but no power up.

and I thought I saw someone else mention it, but must have been mistaken

there is no good way to tell, depending on the unit, you may burn up pieces on the board...hopefully without power being on the switched, nothing will be wrong

the only way to know is after install, reattaching everything and making sure it works
