I have heard of slowly and methodically heating up a taillight assembly to get the glue holding the plastic on the housing to let go then replacing it with clear plastic to make some Altezza-style lights for a vehicle that they are not commercially available for. But not baking the lights as in placing them in the oven or something...
I know what you are speaking of ... I read a well done tutorial a while back - I believe it may have been headlights, and the vehicle could have been a WRX or other Subaru. Similar to what Prowler was speaking of - likely to remove the amber.
yep heard and did cleared my headlights. i got rid of the nasty amber turn signal. It was a couple years ago. I'm not sure if you can clear tails or not.
I think i set it to 350 and checked them like every five minutes trying to pull them apart. Get a set of good leather gloves. Just watch and dont leave them to long. Them once your finished put them back in heat up again and push back together.
over on ranger-forums, we call it the headlight mod...basically you bake your headlights at 250 for 5-15 mins (until glue melts), break em apart (carefully), then mask and paint, then seal back up, voiala...if you need a link, PM me
