getting 2 more 12s

I was wondering i have 2 12" alpine type r that are 2 ohms i was gonna get 2 more and wld it be bad for me to get 2 more 12s that are 4 ohm cuz i can get those pretty cheap
LOL you cant mix subs like that. if you do each sub will be seeing different amounts of power and thats total failure. this question has been asked a bunch by new comers "giggidy" . next time just try a little search first. also state what kind of car the four 12's would be going in and what kind of actual power you have for them. but if you had enough room and power and electrical then id sell my current ones and just buy four new ones since you can get them cheap.

heres the only way it will work, but will be ghetto looking as hell. but if u really wanted to do that i would add an second amp or either 4 cheap amps, then build an box that each subwoofer is in its on chamber and port. then you get an tru rms volt meter. gain match the amps so that each pair of subs is getting around the same amount of power. basically you would pretty much have too turn the gain up way more on the amp/amps that is running the dual 4 ohm subs being that the ohm load would be more than the dual 2. i dont reccomend this, but best thing would be to get an stronger second amp/amps and gain match it taht way. put the stronger amp on hte dual 4's. ive actually ran mix matched amps with differnt power ratings and had good results. but like i said i set the amps so that they did similar power, plus each sub had its own chamber.

even if you gain match, theyll still be different
