alright so i'm new at all of this stuff. i've been wanting to put a pair of subs in my xterra for a while now, and i've done a little homework and have decided that i want to get a pair of fi q's. not sure if i want a pair of 12's or 15's though. Any thoughts on these? would the 15's be significantly louder? back to the point, i've read that these can handle a good bit of power over their rms rating, which is 1000w. can anybody recommend me a good amp, or a good pair of amps? i'm only 17 and like i said, i'm new at all of this. i was thinking about getting a pair of xt-2000d's from us amps. any good? it seems like they would be good for the money. i'll be probably listening to a lot of rap/hip-hop and some rock and some country too. any suggestions or help would be appreciated... thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I see it's an xterra. Get the 15's,

you will not be disappointed. Also,

as mentioned, the aq-2200d would be

a fine choice. Obviously run at 1ohm.

Woofers up, ports back and along the floor.

8 cubes net at 30 hz with 2 6" areo ports. (16.3" deep each)

Experiment with box distance from the back

wall, start at 8".

am i rich.... HELL NO! i've asked my parents for nothing for the past 2 years for christmas/b-day's so that when i ask for something really nice later on (now), i'll prolly get it. i also just got 4 years of LSU tuition paid for w/ scholarship plus the scholarship people are giving me $800 cash every year. so i'm saving my parents a nice chunk of change with that.

Sundown 1500D or AQ 2200D would be fine for a pair of Q's. Just because they can handle more then RMS doesn't mean you need to do that or that they'll necessarily be louder.
You plan on going ported or sealed?

w/ the sundown, they'll only be getting 750 rms each... do those 250w make a big enough difference. i've read up on sundown a lot over the past few months and haven't heard one bad thing about them.

but for less than the price of (1) saz-1500d w/ 1500w (750w to e/ sub), i can get two us amps xt-2000d's which will be putting 1000w to each sub. why would i be better off w/ one amp w/ less power? is the quality that much better

any other comments on the us amps xt-2000d? again thanks everybody!

Honestly, I like the BTL but do not like the Q.. We ran it off of a PDX 1000.1 and neither impressed me at all. I blame the amp for 90% of it but the sub was nothing special. I do want to audition one in another application to get a 2nd opinion for myself.

good decision buying something youll be satisfied at first, ive found it just ends up costing u a lot more time and money trying to buy and re-sell along with build and re build boxes till ur satisfied..

my thoughts EXACTLY. that's why i'm doin it right this go around. i don't really see myself wanting to upgrade that much in the future. nice sig btw

I miss my single 12" Q. Sounded great and got pretty loud off 1000 watts. mine was in a 2.5^3 @ 32hz box.

Listen to mcsoul, get the 15s and do 8 cubes tuned to 30-32, i would say 32 because I like the way mine sounded at 32. And definitely go with 6" aero ports. AQ2200D @ 1Ohm and your truck will kill. Good luck with everything bro

first, what the hell are "wierdos trees?" and, no i'm a white boy. when you think of new orleans, don't even think about Louisiana. They're two different types of places. New Orleans is a town like no other. All of the great stuff about New Orleans only happens in New Orleans. Other than nola, Louisiana is 90% white, 90% redneck (like all of my family) and is mostly all little middle of nowhere towns.
