I told myself I would never buy audio again after getting my system stolen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif, so much effort installing it, so much time dedicated to make everything look and sound perfect, GONE! with in the night.

2-3 years later my friend gets a nice sound system installed and I helped him through the entire process, and now even though I told myself I wouldn't get one, here I am running back like a crackhead in relapse //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D.

I remember from http://www.sounddomain.com there was a 4CD pack someone would give to the members for a small fee, it was 3CD's of songs and 1 of test tones and audio clips of sound field testers, however he seems to not be on sounddomain anymore, infact it seems sounddomains forum died as there is next to no activity there. does he still distribute those and if he doesn't, anyone else have them to the extent on which I can pay them for a copy?

Currently have some CDT ES07's that Don (does he still exist and does he still sell CDT gear) which is the only thing that did not get stolen (thankfully), and I have a list that I plan to go pick up from sonics the weekend;

Rockford Fosgate power 1000 25 to life

-after some investigation I learned it should be able to hit 300RMSX2@4ohm bridged easy. and the sub should hit 1000RMS @1ohm. (if not alot more)

Pioneer DEH-P880PRS

-24Bit DAC, Auto timing, Auto Equalizer, (Their may be better ones out but this is almost the same to what I bought long ago and I want th same one)

Adire Audio Brahma 12" MKII

Another question I had was about some deadening, Some of the material I bought form Ed audio came off (110f+ in Colorado for 1 week left in the sun can do that) and I am going to need to buy some more, are they still a good brand to buy this from or has something better come out ? -(better in a bang for buck sort of way)

It seems I kinda made a mess in this thread so I will try and clean up the questions.

1.-Midnight bass anywhere?

2.-Don still exist?

3.-Deadening material?

4.-Might aswell add, (You opinions on this setup)

Thanks for all the help.

Yeah I still have a copy of that EMNB collection too somewhere.

There are some up and comming companies to take a look at if you're gettn back in the game:

Eduh still sells sound deadening material, and it still sucks. Plus it costs more than when you bought it. Second Skin would be a company to look into.

Yet another customer whose eD deadening mat is falling off. Yet we still have people around here that claim eD's crap isn't, well, crap. eD was NEVER a good company to buy deading products off if. Never.

I have heard bad stories from the companies that built stuff for eD

I do want to say their deadener did work, although I was not thrilled about some of it falling off.

But the material did not fall off because it sucked or I applied it badly, I mean it was really hot in Colorado, a small place called Grand Junction, I never seen the inside of a car get so hot, and I used to live in Cabo San Lucas, it gets to 118f there and is a desert.

Let me know what you want for the CD's.

I would prefer them in Loss-less or CDa's if it is not too much trouble, and like I said before, I am willing to pay for it.

I used to have them and they got destroyed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif, but thats what you get when you loan stuff out am I right.

No, it is the deadener's fault. A better quality mat would have had better heat resistance. Assuming you are talking about the old original asphalt based mat (advertised as rubber based), it should stilll not lose adhesion under normal operating circumstances. Grand Junction Colo is normal operating circumstances.

For your next mat, upgrade to butyl rubber based. MUCH higher heat resistance, and a better over all sound deadening material to boot. Also, while eD does offer a butyl product these days, I would not recommend it. Go with SecondSkin Damplifier Pro if money is no object and you want the best, go with Raamat BXT if you want the best bang for your buck.

Sorry for the tangent. I really know nothing about the CD's you want.

1. Oh yeah, I still have the hard copies.

2. Yes, don't see him on the forums much... but I see him on AIM sometimes. Always liked buying stuff from him...

3. SecondSkin ( http://www.secondskinaudio.com )

4. Looks like you got a decent handle on things, especially if you already have a Brahma lined up...

I already have some matting in the car, inside the ??cabin?? is not really and issue, the problem is in the trunk.

Am I better off ripping everything off and redoing it completely or just sorta removing what seems sorta loose and filling in where needed? (there is still a good deal of matting and although I have some extra cash, I don't want to waste money.

The top part of the car had need 3 layers of (what ever was the "good" matting from eD) to stop the trunk from vibrating.

I had my car setup to where you wouldn't hear no vibrations at all, and when the windows were up it sounded like a stock stereo. (meaning no one outside could hear the heavy bass at all)

With a Ported 12" XXX receiving 1200Real RMS watts (1200watts at 12volts)

So I guess my questions are'

1.)Rip all off, or only the kinda not so sticky anymore parts that are still sticked but may come off later.

2.)How many sq feet for a trunk kit for either option?

Have to say thanks, you all have helped out.

If parts are falling off now, putting good mat over the top of what's left only seems like asking for problems down the road. I know its no easy task, but remove what you can. Try to get the new butyl mat you buy to stick directly to sheet metal where/when/if possible.

If your trunk needed 3 layers, maybe try an alternative method this time. A few layers of a spray-on deadener may be easier and more permanent. I like using concrete for ultimate mass loading myself, but that's another story.

When ng and I aren't too busy *****ing at each other, we can actually be pretty helpful. lawl

Well, I just took a look at the car, pretty much the lid of the trunk needs to be redone, while the rest is fine (once a sub is in there I will find out if the side needs more material)

But should I sludge the top? use some mats? if either how much is needed (links would be lovely)?

This is for a ZX2 Escort.

-You need to forgive my grammar and spelling as English is not my first language.

Anybody else find it ironic that the people who apologize for English being their second language always have better grammar than the people who grow up speaking English as their first language?

I too would love to find out more about the CDs.
