Generic Android head unit dim back up camera

Hi I have a 7 inch generic android head unit screen looks good at night or day but the back up camera is dim / dark during the day but ok at night. It’s like the display goes to 0 brightness when backing up. What setting would chsnge the back up camera lighting or brightness ? Camera was new and it was dim so I think it’s software related
