sorry if this is off this topic threads but i just had some general questions. how do you wire under 1 ohms? i dont really understand that. and how am i supposed to tune a box. i really have no idea how to tune them? and i also would like to know what all the amp presets are? like subsonic filter and the htz tuners and things like that. Please help!! I'd like to get a better understanding of that stuff. thanks! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

The ohm load you can wire to will depend on what voice coil configuration on your subwoofer(s) is/are. All the settings on the amp will vary per application(that is why they are adjustable). I would suggest doing some searches and you will find many of the answers you need/want.

this, there is a lot of good info on this site and others as well

You're asking a few simple questions, but the responses to adequately answer those will be very in depth. Search impedance loading and wiring configurations parallel/series. There is probally a video on crutchfield on the amp settings that will give you a basic understanding. LPF/HPF/SSF all of these are filters that determine what frequency ranges are allowed to be sent to the speakers on the output. Typically from low to high frequencies you want to use different speakers made to handle each frequency range along the audible range. Subwoofers lowest frequencies, midbass lower frequencies, midrange middle frequencies, tweeter high frequencies. So based on what speakers you are running off the amplifier you will want to choose your filters accordingly, typically LPF for subs/midbass, HPF for midrange and tweeters, full for both.

I'm gonna break down your questions to a little simpler format.

How do you wire to 1 ohm? Depending on the coil config of your sub(s) you wire them together in parallel or series to get to the load you want. the12volt.com has a great series/parallel calc

How do I tune a box? The tuning of a box is determined by the box size, port size, and port length. All of these together will give you your specific tuning. Look into the Torres calc if you want to get into box designing because it will give you the tuning and box size when you give it the dimensions of each

What are the HPF, LPF, and SSF? These are all filters that filter out the frequencies you don't want going to the speaker hooked up to it. A high pass filter will give the frequencies ABOVE what you set it at, a low pass will give the frequencies BELOW what it's set to, and the subsonic filter is generally on mono or subwoofer amps to filter out the frequencies below the tuning of your box. You want to set the SSF between 0-5hz away from your box tuning.

good answers above.
For a better understanding of enclosure design and tuning, buy the 7th Edition of The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook by Vance Dickason. More correct information than any forum.

Alcohol education? I think you got your links mixed up, bro.
