General Current Market Amplifier Opinions

OK Noob here and I just finished reading the thread on Amplifier Reviews. My question is kind of the same but not.

So back in the day (1998) when I was into car audio, there were the obvious choices in top quality amplifiers: Orion, Pheonix Gold, HiFonics, and PPI.

I ran a 6 channel PPI Power series that I loved and was sexy as hell. 3 JL 10w3s and MB Quart around the rest.

Now I'm all grown up but I still want bass. I'm going the single 10w7 route and need to power it with something. As I was doing my research, I found out that all these companies had been bought out by someone else, hence their qualities changing.

From what I've read on here, what used to be good is no longer that great. What to go with now seems to be Sundown, US Amp, and Zapco.

nothing wrong with those amps either as long as you are not buying entry level equipment and try getting max out of it 100% of the time. JL makes good amps, Kicker, Arc, Image Dynamics...a good amp is just that an amp. Rockford still makes underated amps in most every BD series I have seen. The other companies you Sundown, US amps and Zapco are excellent as well. One main reasons people here do not like JL anything is based on price, as for me if you like it and are happy with it that is more important than impressing people who do no know you...LOL

Diamond D6 amps, DLS is even higher end from Sweden, Genesis from the UK, Brax from Germany, Audison from Italy...... The numbers of good American brands has almost vanished //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Found a decent deal on the audison for $350. The others all seem way outta my range.
