i recently bought a phoenix gold x600.1. And i found out i can only get some bass when i almost max out on the gain.

Like if i have the gain at the lowest and i keep turning it higher...it slowly..very slowly get more bass and then almost at the very end there is a major increase in bass. There was another member that pmed me asking me if i had the same problem as well. I'm wondering if anybody else has the problem or know a solution?

The amp is a 2005 model so it's probably free of the bugs the older year had.

Set your gains with a dmm. My xenon 200.2 is the same way, but im positive its an 100% clean signal, because the gains were set correctly. The amp isnt completely maxed, but its turned up pretty high. Some amps require you to set the gain higher than others.

A few things you'll need. 1) A DMM 2) the birth sheet to the XENON 3) a calculator 4) a CD w/test tones. Pref. 50 Hz What you'll do is turn the car on and put in the CD and set it to repeate for the track that has the ?50Hz? test tone and turn up the decks volume to about 90% full. NOTE: make sure all eq adjustments are off. Take the birth sheet, look at the output it benched at. I'll use 1256 for the example . Next what ohm is the sub going to present to the amp? I'm going to use 2 ohms. So what you'll now do is take the watts X ohm load presented. Example 1256 X 2 = 2512 Then you'll square root that = 50.119 Take your DMM and set it to VAC. Put the + of the DMM on to the + channel of the amp, do so for the neg as well. Slowly turn up the gain untill it reads the 50.119 volt. You're now set. I have a ZPA0.3 that modified will do just over 900, but the sub is rated for 750, so I went for 800 @ 2 ohms. math as follows. 800 x 2= 1600 SQ.RT 1600= 40 VAC
