gain and bass boost all the way up

My friend has his gain and bass boost all the way up and the speakers do not show any sign of distortion. Is this a problem? It doesn't sound like its clipping and the subs sound good. my friend has a lot of experience with vintage home audio gear, not so much with car audio.

when you say they sound good. they dont. sorry you probably dont know what "sounds good" he is clipping the living shit outta those subs or he has the sub output on the head unit to its lowest setting still not good

redo his gains and shit for him so he doesnt blow em

what kind of subs/amp is he using btw? might have just wired em wrong and theyre so underpowered it doesnt matter its all the way up

well maybe he just doesnt have enough power to make them distorted, but regardless a clipped signal will pwn a sub fast.

I agree. If you can adjust the gains for him properly. Is he using cheap equipment or does he have higher end audio?

Puff the magic dragon is always hiding out near installs like this. Please set gains for him. at least turn down / off the bass boost.

You can't totally assume that this guy doesn't know what sounds good and bad. But most beginners think all loud systems sound good
