Gain all the way down - ;x

Okay, so I got out the DMM finally to set my gain, with all of my normal settings and my EQ all the way up on bass and all, I can't get below 46v on my DMM.

I have the gain ALL the way down, and I want to run 800w@2ohms, so.. I need to be at 40v. So, I guess all I can do is keep my bass knob down, eh?

Bass boost is off, did all of the requirements and all, could I be reading it wrong?

What EQ and what HU are you using?

And what do you mean by "my EQ all the way up on bass and all"?

What tone are you using to set your gain? 0db?

lol i had the same prob, what freq are you using, i was using 40hz, i would use 60hz, maybe 50hz but i havnt messed with that yet

Actually, my first mistake might be that I'm using Bass Mechanic's 40hz tone, the ones on the website were bad links so I couldn't DL them.

I had all of my normal settings(bass/mid/treble) on my HU set(I don't have any components hooked up yet) and I had my Clarion EQ744 equalizer with my lower tone knobs up all the way, power to the rear with volume and 'sub' all the way up.

And those would be ? Bass turned 100% to the max? No?

And by "lower tone knobs" I presume you mean you cranked the EQ bands for the subbass region to the max?

So am I pretty far over at the 45-46 mark? That translates into a little over 1000w if I'm correct ;x and right now my amp should only be putting out 800@2 ohms.

So what exactly is happening with it that high?
