G5 vs. Type X

As the thread states im looking for a comparison review of the Boston G5 and the Alpine Type X. I listen to a little bit of everything from country, to classic rock, to metal, to some underground rap. So i want something that will have some thump, but at the same time be tame enough and have the sound quality for the country and classic rock. And overal im looking more along the lines of SQ. Dont know which amp im looking to run yet or what kind of box. So yea give me your pros and cons. BTW they both seem to be around the same price tag everywhere i look.

Boston definitely is aimed towards Sq, they're some of the cleanest sounding subs you can get.

Yes from what I understand, Boston's are sweet! On the other hand, type X has good sq, and those things will really pound loud. You will need more power for them than the Boston's. That could weigh in your decsion if you need to buy a amp. Like the type R's, type X is power hungry.

I know a few people that prefer the type r over the type x, I've heard that the x's sound worse, but hit a bit harder. Its all what you prefer I guess. IMHO, I'd go for the Boston, I almost bought two G2 12's, but went with the RE's, but those boston's my local shop had on display sure did sound nice. I just hope my RE's pound

i've heard both, and i like the response of the bostons more. it's a fairly accurate sub, and can dish out sufficient amounts of spl. i'd go with the boston over the type x for SQ reasons.

NO COMPARISON... G5 hands down... they have a descent range... will actually play 20hz-80hz
