Fusing question

anywhere where you have a battery to amp, it should be fused
Just off the battery is best!

Right, so my rear batteries are literally 10 inches from my amps. The cables are run ontop of mdf and carpet so no possible shorts. Would i still need to fuse eventhough a short is literally impossible? Front batt to rear batt is fused at beginning and end.
Fusing will protect if your amp has a catastrophic failure and wants to catch fire. Not really a huge risk, but not really a big investment for some extra safety.
