Fusing question

I don't run any fusing at all, if you have 300 amps of demand going through 2 runs of 1/0 ofc under the 20' rating that's means usually that you can handle 700 amps through it . So why fuse it at all. Can't ever remember a time where a fuse saved me from smoking and amp. But do what helps you sleep at night.

This is likely because you have always over-fused. Chalk that one up to user error because that's the whole purpose of fusing.

OP, you might as well use 600A fusing if you're going to use 300, because I highly doubt 300 will protect it unless it's a legit 5000W

Its a 3500rms amp. From what i understood is that the amp will not draw more current even though there are more runs of 0 gauge, the amp will just be supplied with power easier.

I have been told that mow that im going to use double runs the amperage delivered to the amp will be devided among the runs of 0gauge so long i keep the runs iddentically long. So 150A per run. Meaning i should fuse with 150A per.

Again, if you want to fuse to prevent fire in case your power wire dead-shorts, do whatever you want, if you want fusing to protect your amp in the event there's some problem with it 300A won't protect that size amp. If you never open fuses while really pushing things your fusing is not going to protect your amp from trouble. I'd bet if you fused with two 100A fuses you would be hard pressed opening those.

The amp delivers 3500rms at 12.4 volts. If my voltage is at 13.3/ 13.4 volts it should be delivering slightly above the rated rms. I understand tht fuses are there for fires. But i also thought they were there against short circuit protection. So instead of frying the amp it first burns the fuse. Therefore protecting it....???

Manual states 300amp fuse.

Now that i have double the wires/ cables going to and from the amp just makes me wonder if the current get devided among the cable meaning halving the fuse rating.

I just want to go by the book so that if anything happens, i get my warrenty.

I never used to fuse either with my old setup. But my new setup cost me an arm and a leg so just want to take all precautions before i royally sc re w up.

Yes, current is halved if you parallel the paths.

Not sure what the manufacturer will do regarding honoring a warranty, but I'm telling you again 300A fuse will not protect an amp that size.
