Fuse size limiting power?

I currently have a 40 amp fuse on each tantrum 1200.1, when PG recommends 80. I didnt realize it till the other day, and before I go pick up some 80 amp fuses I want to make sure that is the problem.

Heres the deal..the system does not bass near as much as it should.

Could these 40 amp fuses be limiting serious power?

Btw, they have not blown, even with the gains turned way up, which seems rather odd.

No. If the fuse isn't blowing, it won't matter.

If you were really putting out 1200 watts, the 40 amp fuse would blow in a heartbeat. I suspect that the impedance of your load (subs) is not low enough to get that much power out of the amp.

I have them wired in parallel from 6 ohms down to 3 ohms. With these subs in 2 ported boxes, running off of ONE 1200.1, they hammered. With each sub on its own 1200.1, in a sealed box, it is barely noticeable. I know sealed boxes arent as loud as ported, but it should be hammering away ..which it doesnt. My friend has 1 10" w6 in a sealed box and it sounds unbelievable.
