Fuse ratings

Ok ordering my wiring tonight...just want to double check my fuse ratings...

1200 w class d amp

400 w 4 channel amp

I figured .... 1200watts = 12volts x 100 amps and 400watts = 12volts x 33.3 amps.

So if I got a 200amp fuse for the front.

and a 120 and a 80 for the distro block...would that work out?

Or should I change them?

I think they do...but I cannot see them on the outside.

I tried to look online, but cannot find any specs for them which is weird since Rockford is a pretty large company.

I am getting 1/0 to the trunk, then 4 g to the amps. About 13/14ft of 1/0 then 3ft or so of 4.

I know the 1/0 is rated at 300..didnt look at the 4 gauge though

Yes, 300A for the 1/0 and 150A for the 4 gauge. If your amplifiers don't have internal fuses you may need to change the 150A fuses down to something smaller. You will most definitely be able to see them from the outside because if they blow you have to be able to change them easily.

no...i have looked numerous times. nothing on the outside at all.

I went to Rockfords website and am looking on the forums....but no luck yet.

Find the manual for your amp. If you don't have it, it's likely online somewhere. It will either say it has internal fusing or it will strongly recommend you add a fuse to the power line. If they don't have internal fusing it's usually in really big letters in the manual that you have to add your own fuse.

Battery Fuse Rating (Amp) External (Not Supplied) 100A 150A

So I guess these are not fused.....

It says 150amps for each one....So I guess I can do 300 in the main at the battery....then 150a each at the distrobution block.

Yep. Sounds like it.
