fuse problem.

hey, i've posted here a few days ago about my fuses popping when i turn up the volume to about almost all the way up.

i rewired my entire system 6 times total to figure out why. It keeps on happening anyone know why ?

4 gauge is usually good for 120 amps max right? What is the total amperage (what size fuses) your amps will pull?

4 guage ... i have 2 Alpine MRP M850 and 2 12 w6v2's im not sure how much its acutually pushing.

i ordered a circuit breaker.

I would add another run of 4 gauge so you have 1 for each amp, or upgrade to 1/0.

That should take care of your problem. What size of fuse is going to go on the 1 gauge kit?

Please tell me you have 2 runs with 2 different inline fuses and arent trying to run both amps off a 80A fuse....

i only have 1 4guage wire pushing all the power.

150A fuse is perfect.

Edit: If your running both amps off that power wire and I assume your doing a distro block with 2 4 gauge runs?

i didnt put in the distro block yet ..

also would a 200a fuse hold up better and longer?

be less stress on the fuse?

Get that 1 gauge kit in with the 150 amp fuse ASAP, and you shouldn't have anymore trouble. 1 run of 4 gauge can't properly power those amps.

You really don't need a 200 amp fuse, but incase you ever upgrade your amplifiers, you might want to keep a 200 or larger around.
