Fuse placement help

Alright im starting to wire up my system right now but im stuck on where to put my 2 inline fuses. Im going to do the Big 3 and im running 4 runs of 0 guage from the front to the back,2 pos and 2 neg, question is should i fuse it under the hood or could i do it on the side of the box right before the amp. or does it matter. also plan to add a second bat in the back when i get the money.

fuse it at the battery, usually within 18" of connection.

If you run a second battery, a fuse goes at the front one, and also at the rear.

The closer to the battery the better because if you go to far if something shorts out before the fuse you can have big problems
