Fuse needed between trunk battery and amps?

I've seen quite a few people doing both of these things...so my question- do you think its safe to not run a fuse between my trunk battery and amps?

It seems pretty safe since there arent too many places to short in the trunk...I only worry about one of my power wires coming out of the amp terminals somehow and grounding on the amp case.

What do you think? I already have 6 fuses in my car and cant afford anymore...lol.

Mine just blew today on my back battery to amp. But thats probally cause I installed in poorly and it was a tube one on 2400W
