Fuse for Tantrum?

Ok got the Tantrum 1200.1, gonna do a run of 0 for it.

and I'm gonna do a run of 4 for my JBL 300.4.

Question - PG says use 80 amp fuse near battery, but I'm using 0 gauge wire. So should I fuse with 300amp near battery and 80-100 near amp, or just the 80-100 near battery?

I've always just had a single run of 0 to a fused distro, but these will be seperate runs for each amp.

For the JBL, I'm using a 125 amp near battery and that's it, there is 2 30 amp fuses on board the amp.

But the tantrum does not come with internal fusing.

Come on now, I can't go any further till I've decided how to do this.

Now I know you fuse according to the wire, but I also need to fuse for the amp, but the PG manual states to fuse with 80 amps near the battery, but that can't be right, putting an 80 amp fuse on 0 gauge wire right at the battery and that's it. All the installs I've done have been single runs to a fused distro which makes it easy.

I guess, I could do 300 amp fuse near batt then have another inline 0 in and 0 out with a 100 amp ANL close to the amp???

not sure but i think i read somewhere to put a fuse by the battery big enough for both amps and then have another fuse after the distro for the amp?

Fuse for the wire within 18" of the battery, fuse the amp as close as possible to the amp itself.

i thought it would be closer to the distro, since the bigger wires would be over on that side

Yea, I know I want to do that, but I have always fused for the wire, so I'll be putting a 100amp fuse on 0 gauge wire for the amp. Right?

No other suggestions. Still feels weird putting a 100amp fuse on 0gauge wire.

Ok here is what I did

1 Run 0 gauge into inline fuse with 150 amp fuse at battery and 100 amp fuse at amp

1 Run 4 gauge into inline fuse with 150 amp fuse at battery and onboard fuses at amp
