funny sub noise

Hey guys im new to having subs in my car and i notice when i turn up the volume my sub makes a funny clunking noise when turned up a bit. Is this just happening b/c i have it turned up to high or is the sub meesed up thanks guys. I have a jl 8w7 sub just so ya know.

welcome to the site, could be distorting or bottoming out, just turn down your gains a bit, or set them properly

welcome son!!! make sure the pakage of screw's or what not that come's with the sub arn't magnatized to the back of the woofer......
